Men's Should-Haves

Written by Mike Gallego

It has justly been almost every guy’s difficulty to hoard their dresser with the right kind of clothes. And so I rummaged around for the pieces of clothes that men, like me, should have in their closet. Here are what I found.

Choosing from a lot of styles offered in various retail stores can be overwhelming, especially for someone who is not really used to the idea of shopping for himself. However, by carefully exploring what is trendy, you will also learn to mix-and-match those pieces to any and all occasions in your living.

Number one, men should have a full suit. They say that if you have money for only one suit, you have to be sure that it’s worth the money you pay for. Consider that there will only be a few instances when you can get into this suit of armor, so make each one count. For a long time now, designers have held the slim-fit suit, and there is no reason why you should not, too. It has to be dark enough like charcoal so it would not be that hard for you to pair it with the rest of the clothes you have in your dresser. The shoulder stitches should also fit to your shoulders, and its length should hide half to three-fourth of your butt. On the other hand, the trousers should be flat front and hemmed instead of pleated and with cuffs.

Next is an heirloom watch. When it comes to selecting a watch, you should select the one that defines you. Look for the one with only two predominant hues. Remember, a black watch with a white dial looks still more elegant than a multicolor model.

Another is a crunchy white shirt. For those who want versatility, you will never go wrong with a white t-shirt, for this can actually go anywhere; from a formal event where you need to suit up, to a simple casual affair like shopping at the mall with your girlfriend. So what to look for? – opt for something that has a high thread count so it will hold its shape and not wrinkle as fast. Choose the one with classy buttons and with barrel cuffs so it would be easier to pair with items in your closet.

A black blazer is also a great piece that guys should have. When you need to present to a formal personality, just put up a black blazer along with a pressed t-shirt, ties, and pants, and you are ready to go. One of the nice things about blazers is that, it automatically dresses up your outfit in a casual-business sense. Like a suit, the more fitted it is, the cooler it becomes.

Straight-leg jeans are considered to be fashionable these days. As for my choice, I would go for the dark-colored ones since it pairs well with all the other colors. A slim-leg is ideal of trousers, as the fuller-leg variations tend to be a bit swaggering.

And the last in the list, a slim tie in a solid color. Buy a tie with a width of 2-3 inches. Color black is the safest, since it complements any color of shirt. It can give you a very rock ‘n’ roll appeal when you loosen the tie and wear it with jeans.

There you have it, the clothing that you should have in your wardrobe. Okay, that is all for today’s blogging. It is really tiring to make an entry like this. May have a part two up my sleeves!
