Cheer Up! Emo Kid!

Written by Mike Gallego

"EMOs really stink. They get attention by being that emotional. They're attention whores by cutting themselves, crying. Ugh." BUT, it would be really unfair to them if we would just think of them as that, give them a bad look despite of the things that we do not know, and judge them without even actually knowing what they really feel inside.

Being EMO is not always only about getting attention by wrist-slashing, black clothes, tight jeans, having long bangs, and labeling himself in order to fit in a certain stereotype. See, those things are just crazy in a so-senseless and laughable ways. Becoming an emo is easy but being emo is very hard. Emo is not the clothes you wear, it is not a fashion trend and is also not the music you listen to... emo is a mindset; it is a mood swing, but not a mood disorder (eh?).

EMO is an excuse for boys to act like girls. Sometimes, I think. A lot of girls think that emo-kissing is hot though. (How vague! Haha!)

More often, EMOs are those who feel unloved, unappreciated and alone. They think that nobody takes them seriously. Still, I could say that emos are better than normal people. Because they are the ones who really know how to feel and freely express themselves about something. They spend time dressing with their emotions, and expressing it, and make sure that the world knows what they feel because they are not afraid to share them; while others are so insensitive to whatever that happens around them or are just afraid to express their emotion that others might get the wrong idea.

By the way, I do not agree with people who cut themselves; however, fashion, music, expression, etc. is okay. I just really want to understand emos.
Dear Emo-kid,

You should understand that life is hard. Yes, physical pain could lessen inner pain but for a short time only. I hope that you learn that there are other alternatives and constructive gratification for your frustration. Instead of directing every life's flaws into hurting yourself, try using it to create something that could make other appreciate you more, something prolific. Get beyond yourself and use the pain for something good.
"When melancholy strikes you, never think of ending your life. Instead, try using your depression to your advantage." Try to cheer up, ok?

Da Mihi Animas,
Mike G.
Then again, what the heaven do I know? I think I'm getting cheesy with every further post but I just cannot seem to help it. I hope that you do not get annoyed with how I write. Haha!

the word "EMO" now is projected as a trend. I do get emotional sometimes but not to the extent of cutting myself or even lengthening my bangs :)). I have nothing against emo-people... Perhaps they just prefer that kind of "lifestyle". :))

why not try japanese dumplings? they taste really good. :)

there are days na ang sarap magpaka-emo...yung tipong u'll have this gloomy song while you think about ur gloomy situation. hehe.

but of course, it should stop there.

I'm considered an emo kid at my school. i agree with most of this thing, however most "emo" kids i know have depression disorderss with create a need for pain to prove they are still worth life, or they suffer to much mental pain from being bullied, beat, broken up with or other stuff. so the cut so they can focus on the blood and not their issues

This is mostly true...emo is short for emotional...i think kids need to get beyond themselves and see how good they actually have it...they have food a roof over there head and a place to lay at night..i think everyone should dress there moods and stereotypes are not good, people should be indevisual not stuck out in catogories and labels...labels are for cereal boxes not people
