At the End of the Day

Written by Mike Gallego

In the world, many people are slaves for the many things that they ardently desire, but they do not really need. Some of us may not admit, but many of us have been guilty, too, of having so many material wants in life. Yes, we, too, belong to those people who think that life’s treasures can be found in the luxury and comfort of things. We cannot blame ourselves, though.

Since childhood, our parents and teachers have set our minds to always do our best in our studies, so that someday we can have good jobs, and in the future we can buy all the material things we want in life. However, we cannot blame our parents too. It is because, in our society, success conforms mainly about quantity – quantity of properties, money, education, etc. We live in a society where the rich people are the successful, the more important, the more believable; where what is glamorous is noble, what is sensational is true, and what is appealing is good. Our culture has taught us to seek more; to want more.

Did God really plan this world to be this complicated, or is it just us who make the world difficult? Is this our life? No. What is our real life? When will we start our real life?

Things are very easy, very simple. At the end of the day, it is not our possessions, position, power, nor prestige that will matter. At the end of the day, it is not about the mansion where we live, the money we have in the bank, the car that we ride in, nor the brand of clothing we wear. No. A man’s wealth is not determined by these things. Jesus said in the Gospel, “A man’s life does not consist in the abundance of his possession.”

At the end of day, our family, our neighbors, our relationships with others, and what we do with them are what really count. Things change drastically in a matter of seconds, that is why all that we may consider wealth is actually determined by the number of times we laughed with our friends, we shared moments with our family, we spent with our loved ones, and by the number of people we have helped and made happy throughout the day.

God has shown us the real meaning of life. For God so loved the world He gave us Christ, His only Son. And Jesus came to bring peace that comes from loving and doing good to others. He said, “My peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you.”

A person does not live and die for himself or herself alone. Life is too short and fleeting to let it simply slip away in things that are not truly worth our lives. At the end of the day, the one we should follow is God, who is love. At the end of the day, love is all about giving. At the end of the day, life is all about giving. Don’t you think our life is too short to do anything else away from that?

May we all experience the beauty and joy of renewal by being more generous this Holy Week.

Paalam

Written by Mike Gallego

PAALAM.

The Problems That Was

Written by Mike Gallego

As I was reviewing my old blog entries, I noticed that I am a lot different now. Oh well, time changes everything. Before, almost all of my posts are about the happenings in my school and my friends. Then I started writing sad and disturbing stories when I and a friend had a misunderstanding. I realized how emotion could affect the actions of an individual. They are just evidences that it can not always be alright to entertain your feelings and your emotions especially when you are distant and very much preoccupied with so many troubles.

The problems I had encountered previously are separation of my parents, best ex-friend accusing me of something, friends talking at my back, negative concerns about me, being pressured of some competitions in school, coping with my lessons, and all that. I encountered and tried to face all of them simultaneously. Seriously, I did not succeed and it got me into more difficult situations.

I hope that when you bump into the same situation as I had, or when you feel you are buried under so many problems, you will not do the same.

Problems are inevitable and they are already a part of our lives. All of us, in fact, do encounter them on a daily basis. We must get used to the fact that they will always come and learn to welcome them.

Most of us think that problems come to harm us. No! Problems are actually a signal of our need to change. Usually, they happen to inspire us to change, and make things work better for ourselves and for others. By any standards, our purpose here on earth is to improve ourselves to the best of our abilities. It doesn’t matter how difficult things are. As every opportunity or situation comes our way, think that you always have an option to work on it in the best way you can.

Allow yourself to have a rest. You need that. Most of the time, even if we do not perceive it, being constantly moving, thinking, and so on gives us a feeling of being hot and bothered, upset, and distressed. Solve your problems one step at a time. You are not same as God to solve everything in a snap. Consider that you have a lot of problems; you are weak, and less powerful than you normally are. Do not hurry. Focus on one of your problems first; only after you unravel one you can go on to another. Love yourself, treat yourself, and don’t you even think about ending your life. Do not be so hard on yourself; if you can ignore your problems, do so. Not all problems are worth to be thought about. Pray to God; allow Him to help you and work on your problems. He is incontestably smarter, greater and more powerful than you. Always remember that if God is for us, no one can be against us; there is nothing that can defeat God’s purpose for us, if we maintain our faith in Him.

Do not let problems consume your spirit. Accept the existing reality and make the best of it. Stay positive in spite of the negativity around you. The perception you have of your problems is the key.

Reflection

Written by Mike Gallego

In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen!

Lord, Jesus Christ, thank you for always being there, and for never leaving us. Thank you for giving us the strength and courage to face our everyday trials. Thank you for guiding us and leading us in making the right decisions everyday. Thank you for granting us the power to forgive others, and to let go of our difficulties in the past. Thank you for accepting our departed loved ones in your arms.

Thank you for giving us opportunities to use all our gifts, talents, and skills for your greater glory. Thank you that even though a lot of people are trying to bring us down, you are keeping us strong, and you are never letting them succeed. Thank you that even when we are being lost and alone, You are calling us, and leading us back to your flock.

May we always be grateful with your love.

Lord, keep us under your light, guidance, protection, care, and love. Teach us to become as humble as you. Help us to become more, so that we can be a blessing to others. Send us to sway and win hearts for you.

Grant us the grace to cooperate with Your great plans for us. Let us find our rest in You amidst all the hassles and complications of life. Make us forget and surrender all our worries, fears, anxieties, and sinful things. Ignite in us the desire to read and reflect on your words everyday. Grant us the grace to follow you. Help us to love those who have hurt us. Help us to realize our weaknesses and what our limits are. Purify our motives. Purify our hearts.

Take us. Break us. Use us.

Forgive us for the times we doubted your promises. Forgive us for the times we hurt others. Forgive us for the times we failed to think about you. Forgive us for the times we forgot to pray. Forgive us for the times we did not think about others. Forgive us for the times we sinned. Forgive us for the times we did not take the chance to do good.

Drive away everything that is not holy in us.

We praise you for the reliefs you give us. We praise you for all the strengths You gives us, especially when times are rough.

We believe in your promises, Lord. Let them happen in us.

Saint Dominic Savio, pray for us!
St. John Bosco, pray for us!
Mary, Help of Christians, pray for us!

In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen!

Thanks to mhcaillesrn for making and uploading the video.

Saved!

Written by Mike Gallego

Mary (Jena Malone) and Hilary Faye (Mandy Moore) are best friends. Hilary Faye is popular and influential in their school. She runs a very charismatic clique that campaigns godliness. Mary has a boyfriend named Dean (Chad Faust). Her life looks faultless till she discovers that her boyfriend is gay. Jesus appears before her in a vision, commanding her to save her boyfriend from homosexuality. Mary gets that Jesus tells her to give up her virginity so as to save Dean. Mary finds out that she is pregnant. Her friends, Hilary Faye and her faithful followers turn against her. She starts on being hesitant of her Christian faith because God lets her get pregnant. For the moment, the Jewish-rebel, Cassandra (Eva Amurri) dates Hilary’s wheel-chair bound brother, Roland. Together with the skateboarder son of their school’s principal, Patrick (Patrick Fugit), they become the new real friends of Mary, who sustain her in her circumstances. At the end of the film, Hilary starts to doubt of her faith also, and then she starts breaking apart. Realizing her mistakes, she becomes a true Christian.

The movie is quite funny and it may not seem to be a serious film about salvation, but it reflects on the questions “what is a church?”, and “who can be considered as real Christians?” A church is a group of people who sustain and support one another. Those are the people whom we can fall back on or ask for help during the times of sorrow. They never leave us; instead, they focus on assisting us especially when we need them. There are people who only seem good in the beginning, but when trials come, they are the first ones who will judge you. They, sometimes, even use the Gospels as their weapons to blow you away. They definitely lack in understanding. They show failures in opening their mentality and feelings for others. They react negatively and harshly to the wrongs of others, doing acts that are not Christian against someone who does not fit to their principles. But then, they still call themselves followers of Christ.

"Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!"
- Isaiah 5:20

The scene when Dean arrives with his homosexual lover during the Christian prom, and magically says, "I know in my heart that Jesus still loves me!":

The movie speaks to us, Christians, that when our deeds are no longer causing others good, and if they are already hurting our neighbors, we have to brood over it, see what is wrong, and open our hearts and minds to new ideas. We have to consider that we are also not perfect. If we really want to become Christ-like, then death is a part of the equation (I do not mean physically). Well, that is the paradox of life; we need to die in order to be alive again. What we need in order to maintain our Christianity is the kind of death that kills what is evil and allows for the refinement of what is good out of the ruins.

May we learn to continually offer up praise by following Him unto His worthiness.

For Always

Written by Mike Gallego

I was bored at school during our lunch break. I remembered that we would be having an activity on old ballads in our English class that day, so I decided to put this in writing. This one is not about or dedicated to a particular person, so please do not surmise. I am saying this because I know that some would do. Enjoy reading!

For Always

For always I thought
I knew you well
I know your joys
I understand your pain
I have been with you
Time and again.
And I even know your secrets
You barely not tell.

I can make you laugh
Just by doing my silly stuff.

Never came on my thinking,
That all the while you were pretending.

I listen eagerly with every word you say
And believed in all lies you created.

Sad song caused you cry
And you hate the word goodbye
You're full of fantasies
And love happy endings.
Well, you are just like me
We are sentimental beings.

Years had count in our rows
And our friendship seems to grow more.
I treasure you more than a person
Could do in a diamond.

I didn't play you sad songs
For i don't want you to cry
Neither I said the word goodbye
For I don't want you to be left behind.

But why tears are running down my cheeks?
If you just shared with me your grief
And surrender to Him all your belief
Maybe our friendship would be of a happy ending.

For always I thought
I knew you well
I know your joys
I understand your pain
I have been with you
Time and again.
And i even know your secrets
That you really didn't bother to tell.

Happy Birthday to Me!

Written by Mike Gallego

08.08.08. - I really had a wonderful birthday yesterday. It was like the first time after 4 years, that there was a class on my birthday. My birthday used to be a vacation day; if it was not a weekend, there was a typhoon. I was very happy because almost my whole batch in third year high school greeted and wished me a happy birthday. Some schoolmates from other levels did too. I was also surprised and glad to come home from school for a little feast that was prepared for me by my dad.

Today was another great day for me because a lot of my friends were able to come to my simple birthday treat in Eastwood City. We took a lot of pictures and ate. We went to Ayala-Makati after Eastwood, played in Timezone, watched a movie in Glorietta, and walked around Greenbelt.

As for my birthday wishes, I pray to God to surround me with a lot of good people whom I can turn to anytime and upon whom I can depend all the time. That He may also bless those people around me, and help us to be good to one other.

These birthday wishes were written by my friends who celebrated with me yesterday:

Birthday wishes are really cheering me up. Many thanks to everyone who wished me a happy birthday. I had a great birthday.

By Faith

Written by Mike Gallego

July 11:

We went to St. Dominic Savio Parish for the tutorial and feeding program for the poor children in the community of Mandaluyong city as a part of our class's community development program. It was a great experience for me for I was able to gain knowledge about some social and economical issues we have today. We did some crafts with the kids, we talked with them, played, laughed and many more.

Those kids in the feeding program are actually there because they are malnourished. They lack nutrients because they are poor and their parents cannot sustain them. I asked one of the kids I was handling about his daily allowance in school. He said he only gets five pesos each day. What nutrition can you get from that small money? One of them told me before we left the parish, “Kuya, buti nalang sayo ako napunta. Salamat. Balik ka ah. Sayo ulit ako.” That was so powerful. He was really grateful that we came to the parish that day. It was so rewarding to see the instant benefit of giving them food to eat and their nice response.

July 18-19:
We had a two-day recollection at Yahweh Villa in Laguna, for the intentions of paying closer attention to God’s presence, evaluating ourselves, learning, nurturing solidarity and togetherness among us, and completing our CLE requirements (yes!). We had lots of fun, peaceful moments, rest, sing-along, swimming, and spiritual activities. The foods were great, the dormitories were big, the restrooms and shower rooms were clean, and the furnishing of the entire house was cool.

Our most memorable experience, as a class, in our recollection this year would be the sharing session, with lots of emotive and pitiful stories similar to what we usually screen on Teleseryes. In that activity, we were free to express anything that we wish to tell someone and share it to our classmates. It was such a relief for all of us that we got to be ourselves and free our sentiments that we had been keeping for a long time.

I really enjoyed our recollection. It was an unforgettable experience for me. I got to know my classmates better and I learned to appreciate them more. I have grown up a lot because of this and I am very thankful for this experience.

Freedom:
Our main topic during the recollection was “Freedom”. Philosophers divide ‘Freedom’ into two, ‘freedom from’ (inner freedom/freedom of thought) and ‘freedom to’ (outer freedom/freedom of action). Achieving ‘freedom from’ depends on yourself, on how you accept things, on how you look at the world. ‘Freedom to’ happens when you have already attained inner peace because it is what makes you decide and do something. When you have peace of mind you know that what you are doing is right, then, you have inner freedom; when there is no obstacle that hindrances you to do what you would like to do; you have outer freedom. As Christians, we also consider ‘freedom for’. Giving others freedom, liberating our brothers and sisters from slavery, setting their thoughts free, and allowing them to live their own lives. Those types of freedom are integral to one another, and true freedom can only be attained when they are united.

Freedom is a gift given to us by God, but because of this freedom we often do things so badly. We make mistakes because of this. We commit sin. We suffer from evil. We ask ourselves, why has God given us freedom if it causes affliction and death? God has given us freedom because He loves us. Yes, He could have made us puppets, given us a finished world, counted our kisses, regulated our embraces and controlled our friendships. But if God has made it so, would we be happy? He created us free to shape our own lives. He made us responsible in building up this world. He blessed us richly with the freedom to love. But then, we become fed-up with this gift. We abuse it. We take the freedom of others, make them our slaves and make ourselves their masters. We become victims of slavery through sin. We never realize that the more we choose what is true and good, the freer we become.

Bridge the Gaps

Written by Mike Gallego

I know I haven't done a great job keeping my blog updated. Shame on me. I've just been busy with other things I consider more importance.

Most of the time, it is either we unintentionally hurt other people or we get hurt. When hurt, one's reaction is to lash back in anger until walls are built between us leaving bitterness in our hearts and ultimately destroying our relationship with the person who hurt us.

Many people are lonely because they build walls instead of bridges... instead of making a way. Instead of holding onto that bitterness, why not look for ways you might turn an enemy into a friend?

Dear Lord,
Forgive me for all the times I've hurt others' feelings. Help me to forgive, in return, all the people who have hurt me. Let me be an ambassador of reconciliation and forgiveness in the name of Jesus.
Amen.

Trance Sports

Written by Mike Gallego

Sorry, I have not been updating lately. I have been very busy and I did not really have anything to write; except now, of course.

Let me have a short recap, for now, on what have been happening to me lately. At least I am blogging about myself, again, now. I have been hooked with trying out some sports like paintball, badminton, wall-climbing, and my trance-sport which is wushu since the last day of the Summer Enrichment Program in Ateneo.

I tried paintball at the Global Gutz paintball activity area at the back of the Armed Forces Headquarters in Taguig City with a couple of friends and ex-schoolmates. It was so fun and cool at the same time. Shoot here, shoot there; shoot anywhere you want. Paintball lets you discharge your anger, stress and fury to somebody. For those who love actions and fun-filled activities, this game could be right for you.

Need to relax your brain cells? Step out onto wall-climbing or badminton. Those games are physically tiring, definitely; but they could also be mentally relaxing. It enables you to think not as much of your problems and focus only on the shuttle cock or at reaching the top.

Two of the top rock climbing walls and gyms in Metro Manila can be found in Makati City; the Planet Rock of my former school, Colegio San Agustin-Makati features its 1,000 meters climbing surface and the Play Underground Wall Climbing Center at the Powerplant Mall in Rockwell with a premier wall-climbing area and rebound trampoline. Badminton centers, on the other hand, are available at the country clubhouse of your villages.

Wushu has been my dream or trance-sport since I was a kid. It is actually the martial art that Jackie Chan and Jet Li do; cool huh? I finally had the chance to perform this sport when a Chinese friend of mine, who is a member of Alabang Wushu Club, brought me to one of the few Modern Shaolin Wushu athletic centers in the Philippines, the Alabang Country Club. The trainings and choreographies were exhausting but generally it was fun; no doubt about it. Now, who wants to have his ass flying-kicked?

At present, my body is in pain, but everything was worth it. Anyway, I still need to do a few things later. I wish I will be able to update soon.

My Best Ex-Friend

Written by Mike Gallego

Have you ever lost a friend? I mean, you got into a fight with a friend and it seemed like it was too impossible to restore the friendship again.

Second year of high school, I was best friends with somebody named Paolo. He was well thought-out to be the most popular in our batch, and he was. I already forgot how everything happened, all I recall is that we had a really big misunderstanding and both of us were too prideful to acknowledge our mistakes.

Yesterday, we met again in school. He was there to receive his award for being an outstanding student and, of course, to say goodbye to our teachers. He is already leaving the country this coming May 2008 and yesterday may possibly be our last meeting. We did the high-five for like five times that day. I was really overwhelmed during that time because I never expected it could happen again. Although we were not able to express the necessary words like "thank you" and "I'm sorry" to each other personally again (yeah, again), we just did it on the phone after he left the school.

Now he is more comfortable about leaving and readier for his flight! Cool closure, was it not? After 3 months of giving each other a cold and a bit impersonal treatment, imagine that!

Those who got angry or mad at him because of the incident (I know there are some), I want you to have your faith back in him. Pray that he may have a safe trip and a wonderful life in U.S. as well. And to you! If you happen to read this, always bear in mind what I told you.

OK. that is all for today's blogging.

5:23PM

Written by Mike Gallego

A friendship has just ended approximately five hours ago. A friendship that was too perfect; too perfect to be real. In instances similar to this, there is always someone who ends up being hurt the most. It must be really painful for him if the occurrence was not really what he wanted.

Someone was hurt because he allowed himself to be fooled. I am aware of that fact. One of those individuals involved in that ruined correlation was critically injured and it would take him a lot of time to repair it himself.

He had no intention of making things any worse or to trigger anything for telling me this and I am quite sure it was already the last. He mentioned that he already wants to forget everything. He also promised me that FROM NOW ON, he would keep his mouth shut about his absurd experience.

The story ends there. Everything would be fine for him too, soon.

Goodbyes can be good too. It may not be easy, but it would be better for the both of them.

Keep Christ in Christmas!

Written by Mike Gallego

"You better watch out... you better not cry! You better not pout; I'm telling you why... Santa Claus is coming, to town!"

Una sa lahat, marami na ang napaniniwala na alam ni Santa Klaws ang lahat (all knowing), "he knows if you've been bad or good"; na siya ay may kapangyarihan (all powerful), "he rewards the good and punishes the bad"; nandoon siya kahit saan (fills all space), "he delivers all his present in one night"; at ang lahat ng mga ito ay kasinungalingan, "if the devil is the father of lies and Santa is based on lies, who is the father of Santa?", dahil ang Diyos lamang ang may alam, may kapangyarihan, at naroroon sa lahat (omniscient, omnipotent, omnipresent).

Meri Krismas!

So Much To Blog

Written by Mike Gallego

Hey friends. So I'm back to blogging. Of course. So have I been away for how many days? Let's count; 1, 2, 3, 4... 54! Haha! And why did I even make the effort to count that? Haha! I don't know why. Let us proceed...

Let's start with... October 6. I, with my friends, Paolo and Marvin, went to the SM Mall of Asia to watch "Resident Evil: Extinction" and Star City to have some rides. We thought that that day would be really memorable for the three of us; we suspected that we'd understand each other perfectly since we share some interests and expertises especially in politics and economics... but everything didn't actually turn out as we expected. I'm not sure.

Last October 13, Carlos Guerrero celebrated his 16th birthday at somewhere in Aguinaldo, I forgot the name of the venue but as I remember it's near the AFP Theater. Most of his guests of course were from Don Bosco too; though I was the only 2nd year high school student there, I still enjoyed the night because nobody made me feel O.P.. Some faculty staffs and Student Council Officers were there as well.

(Sorry for my camera-phone's poor photographic quality.)

October 22. I saw four poor little children at the gasoline station near McKinley Rd. in Ayala. I decided to buy them 4 McChicken-Spaghetti meals with drinks for the mere reason that I was bored and I wanted to make those poor children feel that they are loved. I enjoy giving. I only honestly enjoy helping. I don't feel different from others. Everyone only hopes for justice and equality... for a meaningful life. Well, I didn't write this to boast the virtue that I did, but to encourage you to do the kind of thing for others. There are so many people in this world who live in comfort and luxury; while there are also many people who are suffering in poverty and starvation. - When was the last time you showed love and regards to the less fortunate?

October 28, I with my cousins were having our dinner at a restaurant in Greenbelt, Ayala when my best friend, Paolo messaged me about Global Fun Carnival; So after we had our meal, we headed to Pasay to experience Global Fun. LoL.

November 1 was as usual. Cemeteries.

I have the widest smile ever in the cemetery.

Finally, Last November 17, we went to Los Baños, Laguna for our Educational Outbound Program with Lakbay Kalikasan. Our EOP this year focused a lot on ecological system. We visited the museum in UPLB and the Makiling Botanical Gardens. There, we saw a lot of preserved species displayed in their museum and different variety of tall trees. After seeing those, we had our lunch in our bus. Excitedly waiting for the real adventure of our EOP - trekking. After our lunch, we proceeded to the Center for Philippine Raptors which is situated only near the Botanical Garden of Makiling; there we saw different eagles and raptors. Aside from just viewing and sight-seeings, we'd also gone to trekking which has really been a challenge for some of us, especially for the big ones. Through my experience with Lakbay Kalikasan, I can agree that Lakbay really helps in increasing the sensitivity and stewardship of the students toward the environment.

So that's all... I guess... Hmmm, no, that's not all... for the past 54 days! Whatever! I'll be gone for now... bye!

I'm Still Alive!

Written by Mike Gallego

I'm back... have not updated for a very long time, had too many things to do.

Today we received our First Grading Form 138 on Technical subjects, Academics, and Deportment. So yeah, aside from the report card, I received 3 certificates of recognition for having the highest card grade in English and Religion in 2nd year and for being a conduct awardee. Okay, having been the top student in those subjects, English and Religion made me really happy today; even though there are still a lot of things that bother me. I am happy because even if I do not study or must I say I do not give much effort in my studies, I still get satisfying grades.

My pare and I attended an interscholastic three-day workshop in Assumption College SanLo last Thursday, Friday and Saturday. We learned a lot of things especially about media and the good and the bad things that it can convey to us. We particularly learned to become critical thinkers, and not to believe easily on what our eyes can see. We learned the true meaning and the importance of being nationalistic. The seminar-workshop also gave us the opportunity to interact with other student leaders from different high schools around the Metropolis; however, the best thing that happened during those days for me was still that my best friend and I got to 'cruise' around Ayala Center, we talked about so many things, and we had that chance to 'authenticate' our friendship.

Okay! So last September 7, we held our Intramural Opening with the theme "Metamorphosis: Evolve with Every Beat." Variara was declared as the overall winner.

August 31 was my first time to sing with our school's chorale, Voces Servient when the NCAA South Grand Opening was held in our school, Don Bosco Mandaluyong.

By the way, I promised that I will post your replies to my question: There are times when people do not appreciate the fact that you care.. when you're trying to help them, aren't they glad? Are they blind? Are they really insensitive or simply they do not like what you do for them?
  • Rod Zantua: I think they do not appreciate the works because their ego gets in the way, thus making them judgmental. Another reason could be that they could be used to the fact that they are always are helped. It's just an ego problem.
They do not worth someone like you.
Either 'di nila alam how to show their elation or nahihiya.
  • *: People usually do not appreciate your works (while you are alive) until you die.
There! Thank you for your answers, dears. I needed them.

So that's all for my lame post.

Sarap mag-Nescafé Classic 'pag Umuulan!

Written by Mike Gallego

Thank God, PAGASA, Dep-Ed, CHEd, typhoon and those who prayed for another no classes day! I really didn’t want to go to school today because I hate Sir JP Rosal’s subject – Drafting (I get high grades on my plates but it takes me two to three hours just to finish one… teachers should understand that a student doesn’t do only one thing within a day, so don’t give us loads of home works! Ha-ha!); today is the submission of all our plates or exercises whatever you call it and I didn’t finish them.

Student Leaders Assembly was cancelled last Wednesday because of you know, strong winds and flash floods, and I still don’t know where our P375.00 and donations will go now that yeah, it was cancelled. Ha-ha! LSGH’s field trip in EK was also cancelled that day, so good for them.

I was supposed to write about something with sense but I’ve lost my appetite, so um… sorry. Ha-ha!

(Ambiguous antecedent) Sir Carpio did something to Paolo that made him cry last Monday. Bad Sir Carpio... he doesn’t seem to understand that we are also humans who have mistakes! Well, all I can say to Paolo, we have to get used that we are popular students and teachers are expecting a lot from us, oh well! And I like what you did; it is hard to express emotion especially because we, men have been fooled into the idea that crying is only something girls can do. We have feelings too, so whatever it is, we need to let it out.

I wonder if a Bosconian can also embrace a friend like in the picture above without being reprimanded. Thanks to Kevin Pacis for the picture, again… Ha! Ha!

Hayy... I am one year older now, so hopefully a year wiser! Hehe! Enjoy your weekends! Que Dios te bendiga!

Agosto-Walo

Written by Mike Gallego

Matuwa kaya kayo na magbasa ng Filipino? Inyo nang pagpasensyahan dahil ngayon lamang ito. PEKULAR! Ha! Ha!

(Ok, this is nonsense.)

Thanks to my Kuyas! Ha! Ha!

It's Sharing Time!

Written by Mike Gallego

10 days to go and another year will be added to my age.

Thanks to... uhhem, my family for always being there, and for being so supportive. Without you, I wouldn't be here.

To all my friends... you guys are the best, I mean all of you... you don't know how much I am glad about you guys, I treasure you a lot. I don't think I could do much without your support. I am so glad that I've known you. I always enjoy our hangouts.

Classmates and schoolmates... thank you guys, going to school has been fun because of you.

Thanks for all the memories, and for all the experiences; good or bad... without them, I would not become who I am right now. (I know it's cliché! Ha! Ha!) I had a very great 14 years, I wish that my 15th year will be even better... of course, with the help of you guys.

Change topic! Ha! Ha!

As the Vice President of my class, I'm afraid my classmates would no longer have the chance to get the rewards and the recognitions they deserve. This is funny... oh well!

Anyway... Gab and I went to watch Harry Potter at Shang last July 20. The movie was awesome, though a little less fascinating than I expected.

"You will lose... everything!" Damn I really like this line. Ha! Ha! So here are the pictures:

The next day, 21, was my niece's christening. The sacrament was held at the Sanctuario de San Antonio in Forbes Park, followed by the reception at Kamay Kainan in Market! Market! And since we're already there at M!2, cousins and I decided to play at Timezone before we went home.

Last Friday, after school, watched Ouija at Glorietta4. In fairness to the movie, it was sold out. Ha! Ha! Yesterday, we're supposed to watch The Simpsons, but since "INDIAN" happened, we are moving the schedule next week. I need to watch! I NEED!

Aight, till here... still have lots of projects and homeworks to do.

It's You and Me... NO! It's Just Me!

Written by Mike Gallego

Just came home from Ortigas a little while ago with Sir Chua (Physics teacher), Paolo B. (2-Kowalski), and Gab C. (2-Versiglia). We watched 'Transformers' at exactly 3:00PM today in Podium. The movie was great! And if I would rate it from 1-10, I would give them 9! The animations were super awesome. The story was short, but the action was really long and the editing was amazing. It has action scenes more than worth paying to watch at the Podium, or even at the iMAX!

Ok, Paolo came late again, and he looked similar today with Harry Potter in the poster (laughs!) My phone got empty batt. so I do not have any picture to put here. From Podium, we transferred to SM Megamall so we ended up dining in at El Pollo Loco.

We are planning to watch 'Harry Potter' at the SM Mall of Asia on July 14, and if you wanna come with us, just tell me, comment it here. Don't be shy! Haha!

Update!

Written by Mike Gallego

It has been so long since I’ve blogged and I wonder if anyone still reads or even visits this site anymore. So um, this would be my first entry for the month of July.

Before I start this entry, I would like to thank first, Carlos Guerrero for the, you know, he gave me last Monday.

Talking about giving… today, Tuesday, after school, before we went home, I treated my friends to the nearest McDonald’s to have some snacks, yes, it was my treat. So on Friday, we are planning to go somewhere…

Well, things seem to have gotten better now in school, but there are still lots of things that make me go crazy like assignments, projects, and tests. Second week of school, I was elected to be the Vice President of my class, II-Caravario. Last Friday, Mr. Varona, the English Department Supervisor called for a meeting to talk about the Comm. Skill Campaign so after our dismissal we went straight to Kowalski room. There, he discussed about the said campaign, and told us some new instructions and gimmicks. He also had to divide the speech guild into two groups and pick two core leaders for each group, and again they chose Paolo and I to be the leaders of Group-A. After the meeting, around 5pm, Mr. Castillo, Aquino and I walked to the nearest 7/11 to buy some snacks.

By the way, I got a news from the Salesian Family: Last June 5, 2007, the Vatican City appointed Fr. Luciano Capelli SDB (who used to be our spiritual adviser, a rector in Don Bosco Mandaluyong, and the priest who presided at my Mom and Dad’s wedding) as bishop of Gizo.

Oh yeah, tomorrow, the Second Years’ first level mass will be sponsored by my class; they assigned me create a power point presentation, so bye for now, I gotta do my job! Hope everyone is having a good day! Ciao!
